New Jersey Energy Coalition Members Response to COVID-19

Companies throughout New Jersey are helping to aid the healthcare systems during the COVID-19 pandemic. Many New Jersey Energy Coalition have donated during this time of need and we thank them for their efforts.

Executive Board Members:

Exelon Corporation and its family of companies will donate more than $1.15 million to national and local relief organizations to support communities impacted by the coronavirus. Included in this, Atlantic City Electric has committed to donating $75,000 to Southern New Jersey relief organizations.

First Energy, parent company of JCP&L, announced a $2 million donation to food banks in its subsidiary’s service area.

PSEG has donated 50,000 N95 masks and 200,000 pairs of gloves to aid response by health care and first responders during the COVID-19 pandemic. PSE&G is also helping ensure hospitals have the power they need by inspecting power supply and equipment to bolster reliable service to hospitals during the pandemic. In addition, the PSEG Foundation is supporting the Community FoodBank of New Jersey’s efforts to reduce food insecurity.

South Jersey Industries is committing $100,000 to support COVID-19 pandemic response efforts across the state.

Advisory Board Members:

Essential Utilities Inc., parent company of Aqua America, donated $290,000 to numerous food banks throughout the 10-state footprint its utilities serve customers as part of COVID-19 response.

The Delaware River and Bay Authority (DRBA) has donated 4,000 N95 respirator masks and 2,000 pairs of nitrile disposable gloves in an effort to help the medical community and first-responders.

American Water, parent company of New Jersey American Water, and American Water Charitable Foundation donated $100,000 to Feeding America to help food banks across the country. American Water has also donated $500,000 to American Water Charitable Foundation to support COVID-19 relief efforts.

PS&S donated nitrile gloves, Tyvek suites, masks and goggles to Hackensack Meridian JFK. In addition, PS&S has also donated 50 video baby monitors to Hackensack Meridian JFK to help reduce doctors and nurses exposure to COVID-19 patients.

Rowan University released designs and instructions for a 32-printed face mask, produced nearly 20 gallons of hand sanitizer, and built intubation boxes for emergency use at South Jersey hospitals during the COVID-19 crisis.

Stockton University Data Science Major printed masks for health care workers on the front lines of the coronavirus pandemic. In addition, Stockton University is providing temporary housing to healthcare professionals working at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Centers and the Bacharach Institute for Rehabilitation while they treat COVID-19 patients.

The Williams Foundation has pledged $1 million to provide community support during the COVID-19 pandemic.

General Members:

AtlantiCare has received several donations, including masks and other supplies, from local businesses in the community to aid the healthcare system throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

Inspira Health’s pharmacy teams are making its own hand sanitizer for use in its medical facilities due to shortages caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The OceanFirst Foundation is providing $100,000 in new Rapid Response Grants to Food Bank partners to alleviate food insecurity and $150,000 in new Good Neighbor Grants awarded to nonprofits to address the impact from the COVID-19 pandemic.
