Comcast’s goal to be carbon neutral by 2035 starts with reducing the emissions they own and control across the enterprise. With purchased electricity accounting for the majority of the company’s emissions, Comcast is taking action to invest in clean and renewable energy. This means shifting to solar, wind, and other clean sources of electricity. Comcast sourced approximately 1.1 million megawatt-hours of clean and renewable energy in 2023—approximately 25 percent of the total enterprise electricity load.

In addition to sourcing more clean energy, the company is deploying new, energy-efficient technologies across their network with a goal to double network energy efficiency by 2030. Comcast has been investing in a nationwide network transformation to virtual, cloud-based technologies that offer faster broadband speeds, greater reliability, and improved energy efficiency. The company has reduced the electricity it takes to deliver each byte of data across their network by 40 percent since 2019.

Comcast is proud of their progress and will continue to work toward a better, more sustainable future.
