Weekly Recap: Friday, October 19th

The last few weeks, the NJEC has retooled and taken an active role with energy locally, state, regionally and nationally. We will be actively engaged and actively participating in the discussions, in which some of the issues we are hearing and discussing are workforce development, cyber security, internet of things, DER, generation both renewable and 24/7 base load, and modern grid. We will take an active role in all discussions in and around the energy sector and we will not shy away from the hard issues. Last week, Executive Director Erick Ford Ford, went to D.C. and met with various groups around Capitol Hill including EEI along with the President’s Energy Advisor. On Tuesday, the Coalition hosted NRC Commissioner David Wright at The Riverwinds Restaurant in West Deptford, NJ. A special thanks to our two speakers, Commissioner Wright and U.S. Congressman Donald Norcross as well as our special guests BPU Commissioner’s Bob Gordon and Dianne Solomon and Former NJ Governor Florio. Thank you also to all those who attended a great event, especially our members. On Wednesday, Erick and Lea (Asst. Deputy Director) went back down to Washington, DC to discuss energy issues and policies with staff from the offices of Senator Booker, Congressman Norcross, and Congressman Brooks and American Gas Association. Lastly, on Friday we attended the NJ Chamber and NJBIA’s event with BPU President Joe Fiordaliso.

Make sure you are up to date with the Coalition on social media.
