Brendan Byrne, Bill Bradley and Ron Jaworski Among Growing Supporters of Independent Clean Energy Group

An independent statewide coalition formed to educate the public about a range of clean energy solutions – including the need to re-license the Oyster Creek nuclear plant – announced today that former Governor Brendan Byrne, Senator Bill Bradley and NFL great Ron Jaworski have joined their growing and diverse membership of prominent New Jersey leaders.

In the last two weeks, the New Jersey Affordable, Clean, Reliable Energy Coalition (NJ ACRE) added 15 prominent new members to its ranks, said Dr. Edward H. Salmon, the Coalition's Chairman and former president of the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities.

"This Coalition was founded on the principle that our energy and environmental policies must be shaped by science, free of partisan politics and ideology," said Dr. Salmon. "That our membership spans the environmental, business, labor, academic, health and civic communities has enabled us to uphold that very important principle."

The mission of the NJ Energy Coalition is to generate public support for the production and delivery of affordable, clean, reliable, American energy to help meet New Jersey's growing energy needs. The Coalition seeks to achieve this goal through increasing the public's awareness of the need to keep existing clean energy providers operational, to develop new affordable clean sources of in-state generation and to maintain a suitable transmission and distribution infrastructure for delivering electricity to our citizens.
