NJ Energy Coalition Holds Winter Meeting in Trenton

DEP Commissioner Bob Martin Delivers Keynote Address

TRENTON, NJ – Over 50 members and guests of the New Jersey Energy Coalition, representing business, labor and the energy industry, met at the Trenton Marriott on Monday, February 28, 2011 for an informative discussion on environmental and energy issues in New Jersey.

NJ Department of Environmental Protection Commissioner Bob Martin was the guest speaker and provided some insight on his department, Governor Christie’s focus on economic development, and the administration’s improvements to the permitting process for projects in New Jersey. Following Martin’s comments, a panel of experts from various energy industry perspectives – renewable energy, utilities, environmental consulting and business – presented their views on a range of topics, including the forthcoming release of the revised NJ Energy Master Plan, the current legislative and regulatory climate, competitive energy markets and regulatory incentives.

“The meeting was a great event, well organized and very informative,” said Tom Reilly of Atlantic City Electric. “In particular, the panel was well structured with the right mix of viewpoints on energy issues in the state.”
