Local 454 Wharf and Dock Builders Pile Drivers and Divers Join New Jersey Energy Coalition
MILLVILLE NJ--- Today the New Jersey Energy Coalition, the state’s leading energy advocacy organization, welcomed Local 454 Wharf and Dock Builders, Pile Drivers and Divers to its growing membership list.
“It’s a pleasure to welcome Local 454 to the Coalition. For nearly a century, Local 454 has actively worked in the region on energy infrastructure projects,” said Bob Marshall, Executive Director of the Coalition. “It is a positive addition to our diverse membership representing industries throughout the state.”
Local 454 is composed of members and signatory contractors that serve the heavy foundation, marine construction, and commercial diving markets in Delaware, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Maryland. Since 1913, its members and contractors have been installing foundations for bridges and buildings and constructing waterfront structures for the Delaware River port and refinery industries. In addition, the membership has provided commercial diving services for both open ocean and nuclear power plant reactor pools.
“Local 454 demonstrates the growing interest in uniting and working towards common energy goals for New Jersey,” added Dr. Edward H. Salmon, Chairman of the Coalition. “We look forward to working with Local 454 and all of our members to promote American energy to meet our state’s growing energy demand. The Coalition’s continued expansion underlines the increased public awareness of New Jersey’s energy future.”
The membership of the New Jersey Energy Coalition includes statewide and local leaders and organizations representing the environmental, business, health care, labor, trade, consumer, academic, and civic communities. Its focus is to provide education and outreach that stresses the need for a broad energy platform in New Jersey.
